collage of quick animations

Season 3!

So the new season of Yo Gabba Gabba! premiered a few weeks ago. I hope you tuned in/will continue to! ( I have only seen a few videos here and there because I am currently a loser who is too cheap to pay for cable )

But for now here is a pretty incredible clip of Mos Def in the Super Hero episode. I helped key, composite, and animate the footage of him flying on and off screen.

Boy, do I miss hearing these songs over and over again everyday. And I am not being sarcastic.

I don't know, Alaska

Check out nanuqthefilm.com for stills of a film I just Art Directed/FX Makeuped all the way out in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The lead actress, Rylie Behr, is possibly the best child actor I've ever/will ever work with.
Here she is in the bald cap I put on her.

a lot has happened since the move to LA
(Me punching Mark Mothersbaugh during my second day as an Animation Intern for Yo Gabba Gabba!)
(Learning about prosthetics and molds at American Makeup & FX)

but at this point I still feel a bit like this

breaking my virtual diet

So, I've been pretty busy moving out of my apartment and preparing for life on the opposite coast. As a result, no thrilling updates as of late (not that any thrills have been had thus far).
Hopefully I'll be posting a decent amount this week as a means of distraction from all the other things I should be taking care of.
For now - a digitized, fat-free snack from the past brought to you by the wonderfully-mediocre Video Lunchbox. Pretty appropriate for how I am current feeling...

I need to finish this beautiful tale of space and love...

kid tested, skinhead approved

Looking through my hard drive and thought it was time to get old school- first project shot on bolex/proof that Jeff has been my muse since sophomore year. All edits in camera. Random? yes. Dumb? yes, but I don't care. (It's jumpy because I filmed a projection.)

edit: another old school, strange, filmschooltastic bolex-made ditty. our camera was messed up so a lot came out dark but it worked enough to splice together real quick and call it a day. slackers.

poppin' and lochin'

OK, so here's an extremely random post of slightly insignificant creations.
First off, my first still image created in Maya a while back- an interpretation of Sylvia Plath's "Mad Girl's Love Song." Random. I'm not even exactly sure what I was going for, because, well, I am a Mad Girl. And just really like Nessy.

Yes, I am being serial-ous

It's the moment you have been waiting your lives for- "Serialist Art" on the web! Now you can watch it at least 36.8 times a day.
Made Spring of '08 along with William "Peep This" Rhodes and other pals.
It was selected to be in one of the shorts programs at the wonderful Coney Island Film Festival back in September.

Hey Kids, dinner's ready, and it's analog flavored!

Here is a film animation I did this past fall. It played in this year's Boston Underground Film Festival in the program of shorts entitled "Psychedelicinema."

I scanned some photos I took of Jill last month. I was going for a 60s fashion "Blow-Up"-y vibe, clothes from my closet, hair & makeup also by yours truly. Jill's lookin' just fab. 35mm 400tx

Sexual Space-ual Exploration

Ridiculous collage photos I made by scanning found prints of the images from the Apollo 11 trip to the moon, old stereoscope slides of pinups from the 50s, and awkward yearbook photos from 1965.

TRAILAH PAHK

Here is a short beginners animation I made in Maya. The editing is a bit rushed and maya camera movements are not the greatest, but I'll fix it up eventually. The voiceovers are the best part, anyway.
